Revenge

Have you ever sought revenge on someone? Have you ever thought about taking revenge on someone or dreamed about it? Peter Houghten had every day, because every day peter was bullied. Ever since his first day of kindergarten when he got his lunch box tossed out of a school bus window. Peter has taken every insult, punch, and humiliation without fighting back. Peter’s life has been constant torment and torture. And when peter saw an opportunity to get revenge he took it, the reason peter shot everyone that he did was because he wanted revenge. Peter wanted to get back at all the people who had ruined his life.

Being bullied will affect anyone’s life in a very severe way. But being bullied for your whole life can cause a lot of suffering and pain. Peter has been bullied his entire life. Peter has been bullied in so many ways, he has been stuffed into lockers, called names, tripped in the hallways and so much more. But the bullying can often get taken to a level of physical abuse, and mental abuse that is unbearable for peter. For example “ he tumbled down the stone steps as matt stood over him. Peter landed face down on the pavement when he lifted his head his lip was bleeding. Matt was on peter like a hurricane, punching him in the face, wrestling him bodily to the ground. Matt spat on him as he pinned him to the ground, peter shook his head, tears streaming down his face mixing with the blood.” This quote shows how cruelly peter is treated, and how much these people hurt him. Peter has never been able to really get back at these people. He had just taken everything that was thrown at him, and had to deal with it by himself. Being bullied so harshly had destroyed his life.

Peter had a reason for killing the people he did, he killed them because he wanted revenge, not because he was insane or irregularly brutal. Peter had his life ruined by these tormenters and he wanted to get back at them. The day peter took his revenge he killed nineteen people. But this shooting wasn’t just out of nowhere, peter had planned his revenge, peters revenge was pre meditated. Peter took time to steal four guns. Two from a neighbor and two from his father, peter made his own bombs, he made a kill list in his yearbook and he made a video game to virtually kill the kids who had made him suffer. Yes peters massacre wasn’t justified and it was a horrible thing to do, but peter had a somewhat valid reason. For eleven years peter had been violated by the same group of people, he had never gotten a break.

Peter got his vengeance, but it meant hurting a lot of people in the process. The book teaches readers to be more aware of what you do and say to people. It teaches readers that what you may think is a joke is definitely not to someone else. The book also educates readers on the subject of revenge by showing us that people will not always let you get away with things.
